Inflation in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is one of the few countries where deposit rates are consistently above inflation. With inflation of 9–11% and deposit rates of 18–22%, real returns are 7–10% per year.
The main enemy of savings is not inflation itself, but inaction. Money on a card without interest or under the mattress loses 10% of purchasing power every year. In 7 years — half. In 15 years — almost three quarters.
